Bars vs Pubs - What is the difference?

A bar is a venue that serves a selection of beer, wine, cocktails and spirits, and has a limited food menu, generally tapas or ‘easy’ foods. The patrons of a bar are usually of the younger generation who gather to have drinks with friends before moving onto the next location. Entertainment usually consists of live singers or bands and in most cases children are unable to enter the bar as there is an age limit.

A pub “also known as a public house”, is a more family friendly environment, the drink selection is more extensive with a larger option of food, and commonly has a dining area “restaurant” where families gather with their children to enjoy a meal and drink. Children are welcome in Pubs as long as they are accompanied with an Adult.

As you can see the difference between a Bar and a Pub is quite different. Whats your view? Do you prefer a Bar or Pub?
