Green Beacon Brewing Co - Teneriffe

We all know research, hard work, experience, passion and vision are some key elements that heavily contribute to producing a great tasting beer, the team at Green Beacon Brewing Co. bring all that to the table and more. Recently the team received the 2016 CBIA Award for ‘Medium Champion Brewery’ which is credit to their hard work, passion, and vision they had to bring to the vibrant community of Teneriffe.

These guys had a goal to bring the community together and enjoy quality beer paired with great food, and we can say this ‘has’ been achieved! From hipsters, to corporate workers, students, families and more, everyone is there for the beer, food and atmosphere.

All the beers are great, but we recommend the American Ale – Wayfarer USA for a creamy finish, or if pairing food is what your after, then try the British Ale – Penny Porter and a plate of Oysters. But if ‘food trucks’, tickle your fancy your in luck, so to see what's rocking up next checkout their website here >>

Aether Brewing - Milton - CBD

Brisbane is becoming spoilt for choice when it comes to Craft Beer, and with Aether Brewing now positioned just a stone's through away from Suncorp stadium, locals have every reason to be smiling. With years of planning this dream journey by founders Dave Ward and Jimmy Young, and perfecting their brews in secret, they launched onto the scene late 2016 at the 'Beer InCider' festival in Brisbane.

You can feel the special vibe after just walking in the doors at Aether Brewing, and why wouldn't you? There is a great bar downstairs with 12 taps pouring a range of Aether brews, along with a few guest brews, plus a great selection of spirits to tickle your fancy. With another bar upstairs, along with a great function room for those special nights. remember when there is beer, there needs to be food, and don't worry there are some tasty treats here, and more to come, so be sure to stop in more than once.

So what about the beers you say? Well, we are fans of the Boos Bitter (English style bitter, 56IBU, 6.5%), but if your ready to kickstart you're evening make sure you try the Viktor Imperial Red (Heavy malt fast that fades into a bitterness warm finish, 48IBU, 12%).

We take our hats of to both Dave and Jimmy, for the thought that has gone into this brand, the setup, the food, and the environment. But most importantly the staff, and that welcoming feel. Be sure to drop in and listen to some tunes, before or after a game of footy, or simply after work. Aether Brewing Facebook >>

Newstead Brewing Co - Newstead

Some say Newstead Brewing Co, has led the resurgence here in Brisbane’s craft beer scene, and assisted 'Gypsy' brewers to perfect their brews along the way.  Setup in an old steel warehouse in the heart of Newstead since 2013,  Newstead Brewing is still going from strength to strength and why shouldn’t they? With 12 beers on tap and 6 pouring their own, like our favourite 3 Quarter Time Session Ale (ABV 3.4%), great pizzas that go down well with any beer, tasty cocktails and of course fantastic atmosphere!

Everyday is a good day at this brewpub, and our team just didn’t want to leave, however if you too are a fan of Newstead Brewing Co, then you will love this!

In the early months 2017 (yes this year) they are opening what looks to be a bloody good new brewpub at Castlemaine St, Milton, opposite Suncorp Stadium. These guys deserve some credit and a big high five for helping make the craft beer industry what is it today here in Brisbane. Visit their site here >>

Ballistic Beer - Salisbury

BOOM! Ballistic Beer has arrived in Brisbane, and sure have made a big dent since opening in Brewery / Bar to the public in 2017. With Co founder David Kitchen, and Head Brewer Lachy Crothers they have simply hit the nail on the head, and really seem to have the mix just right. We all know there is something special about sitting in the breweries amongst the gear, where all the magic happens, and the atmosphere is just that, but the staff make it that little more special, along with the family friendly vibe.

The more beers we try around the country we often think "can these craft beers keep getting better and more unique?", and Ballistic sure can prove it. Recently in the 2017 Australian Beer Awards they received Gold for their "Dirty Word - Craft Lager" a 5.0% with 30 IBU 10 EBC, "Australian Physco  - Aus IPA" a 6.5% with 70 IBU 25 EBC, and "Pilot Light - Table Beer" a fantastic fresh reduced alcohol beer at 3.6% with 25 IBU 20 EBC.

But our favourite was "The Grandfather - Strong Oaked Ale" which just had our taste buds in heaven with smooth malty flavours, deep red colour and a balance that got us going back for more. We will leave the rest up to you to decide, and do tell us your thoughts. See their website here - Ballistic Beer
